Dandruff or seborrhea? These two terms are often confused, as the notion of the term «dry seborrhea» almost coincides with the notion of «regular dandruff», ie peeling and falling skin cells increase with no increase in secretion of the sebaceous glands. While in the case of seborrheic disease besides conventionally pathological activity of the fungus there is a violation in bactericidal properties of sebum secretion. This helps to increase the secretion of sebum in the discharge channels of the sebaceous glands and the surface of the head, skin which in turn leads to the spread of infection. In other words, if dandruff becomes quite oily and is accompanied by a recurring skin itch and redness, hair hang off as «icicles» and hair loss develops in the background of dandruff, most likely it is oily seborrhea getting worse. Additional factors of the emergence of this disease may be disruption of digestive system, chronic infections, lack of vitamins A and C, bad diet and also not suitable skin and hair care. Therefore, the sooner disease treatment is initiated, the better result will be. Only prescribed treatment and professional products should be applied for proper care of seborrheic dieases. Other frequent skin diseases are psoriasis, eczema and contact dermatitis. If a person has one of those diseases, they are often accompanied with not only damaged skin head, but aslo fragile hair that are breaking at the roots (at a distance of 2-3 mm from the scalp). These processes contribute to hair loss and provoke further baldness provokes, often irreversible. In all cases of head skin diseases they should be diagnosted and treated by a dermatologist or trichologist and only specific professional skin and hair treatments shall be used for cure and care purposes, as well as regular daily post treatment care.
