A hair comb or a brush, which has a history of 5000 years, is a main hair care tool you have to use everyday! But a bad quality comb or brush may damage your hair! Be sure to choose the right comb or a brush designed for your hair length, thickness, and texture! Always remember brushing your hair is still an important way to keep your hair healthy and shiny.
  • Round Hair brush: Round or barrelled hair brushes are generally used to give a curl and definition to hairstyles. Used with hair dryers, round hair brushes are designed to add curl, curve and volume to straight hair, as well as to straighten wavy or curly hair. Small to medium round, or barrelled brushes work best on shorter hair, while big barrelled brushes are often favoured by hairdressers for blow-drying medium-length to long hair. Round hair brushes are mostly used to give texture or curl to shorter hair, and the golden rule is the smaller the barrel, the tighter the curl. For medium-length to long hair you’ll need a chunky barrelled brush. Really large, round hair brushes aren’t generally available in chemists or department stores, but your stylist can probably order one for you from his or her wholesaler. When styling, start at the roots and be careful not to wrap a big section of hair around the brush - otherwise you could get into a tangly mess.
  • Vent Hair Brush: Created with a hole in the middle of in the base, the vent hair brush lets air pass through the brush allowing for faster blow drying. These brushes can also boost volume, and detangle your hair. Vent brushes have widely spaced, flexible bristles. Openings in the head, where the bristles are attached, allow for good airflow. Vented brushes are primarily used for drying hair because they offer superior airflow, making it short to work the moisture out.
  • Paddle Hair brush: Great for straightening medium to long hair, a paddle brush smoothes as it lengthens. As opposed to the round brush, this style encourages hair to lie flat and is better for hair which is not layered too much. Paddle brushes are distinguished by their size and cushion type base from which the bristles protrude and are larger and flatter than the cushion hair brush and are used when you have lots or long hair to deal with. They are great to smooth naturally straight hair or to finish off after using a round hair brush to straighten wavy or curly hair.
  • Cushion Hair brush: Made for medium to long hair, cushion hair brush is a daily brush that massages the scalp and can perform the same duties as the half-round brush. Cushion brush were designed to be gentle on hair and scalp, they are often equipped with a soft rubber base.
What is the best quality brush for your hair and how to brush your hair to bring more blood circulation to your scalp? Using a natural bristle like boar’s hair is a good decision. The boar bristle hair brush bristles are similar to the keratin of your hair and absorb the dirt and oil just like your hair. In addition the tips of the boar hair brush are rounded and gently massage your scalp and hair. The nylon hair brush is not recommended since it is rougher on your scalp and is no where as good as the boar bristle hair brush. The nylon bristles are usually sharp and inflamed your follicles and break your hair when you use it. No matter which brush is best for certain styles, there’s no stopping you from having at least one of every type. Changing your brush may ease your morning routine, or make it even faster. One thing to keep in mind is quality. Buying the cheapest brushes will only mean that they will not last very long, and may end up scratching your head. Treat your hair well and they will love you for this!
