  • A vitamin (Retinol) - skin beauty vitamin, improves skin elasticity, protects skin from drying, and exfoliation, an active antioxidant. Vitamin A is used for treatment of practically all skin diseases (acne, seborrhea, psoriasis, etc.). In case of skin lesions (wounds, sunburns), vitamin A accelerates healing process, as well as stimulates collagen synthesis, improves the quality of regenerated tissue and reduces the risk of infections. Vitamin A participates in the synthesis of steroid hormones (including progesterone). Both vitamin A and β-carotene, while being powerful antioxidants, are used for prevention and treatment of cancerous diseases. Both vitamin A and β-carotene protect cell membranes against the destructive effect of free radicals, while β-carotene also neutralizes the most hazardous types of free radicals. Vitamin A is required for normal immune system functioning and is indispensable in the fight against infections. Vitamin A gives hair elasticity, makes it stronger and helps against ultraviolet radiation. In case of its deficiency, the scalp may start flaking, hair become thin and fragile.
  • Acanthopanax Senticosus (Siberian Ginseng) – botanical extract affects the regeneration of skin cells and strengthens the protective function of the skin, has adaptogenic effect, stimulates hair growth. Ginseng contains a complex of active substances: essential and other oils, enzymes, trace elements, vitamins B and C, phytoestrogens, pectin, starch, etc.
  • Achillea Mellifolium (Yarrow) – botanical extract tightens pores of the sebaceous glands, stabilizes the oil balance, it is recommended for oily seborrhea and associated hair loss, helps to promote healthy hair growth by its positive effect on capillaries and antiseptic properties.
  • Adenosine – a powerful hair growth factor. Adenosine is an endogenous nucleoside present in all body cells, it stimulates growth of fibroblast cells, e.g. in the main layer of hair - cortex. Works in two directions, with its strong antiseptic properties provides ideal conditions for hair cells by overall internal strengthening and supports hair root optimal state by increasing microcirculation and the flow of oxygen through the skin. It is present in the structure of adenosine triphosphoric acid (ATP) which participates in all metabolic processes and is an energy source for cells. Adenosine stimulates hair growth by exerting influence on hair growth factors, such as fibroblast growth factor 7 (FGF-7) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Also, Adenosine is a powerful vasodilating substance. Its vasodilation mechanism is linked with increased K+ conductivity and suppression of Ca2+ entry by cAMP (cyclic adenosine monophosphate) in cells. Adenosine’s efficacy was first reported at the 11th Annual Meeting of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS). Adenosine increases Anagen hair growth and thick hairs in Japanese women with Female Pattern Hair Loss: a pilot, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial.
  • Aesculus Hippocastanum (Indian Horse Chestnut) – seed botanical extract contains various flavonoids and saponins. The biological activity of this extract is associated primarily with its most active chemical compound – Aescin (a triterpene glycoside). Experimental studies have shown that Aescin shows a marked venotonic effect which corresponds to the activity of serotonin and dihydroergotamine. Aescin exerts marked anti-inflammatory and antiedemic effects. The anti-inflammatory activity of Aescin is superior to the one of Butadione. The capillary strengthening properties of Aescin confirmed an assumption that it exerts a primary influence on the first phase of inflammation when vascular permeability impairment takes place. Apart from strengthening the blood vessel and capillary walls, Aescin also stimulates blood circulation by increasing its oxygen supply, improves metabolic processes in the skin cells and regulates the sebum discharge.
  • Alanine (2-aminopropanoic acid) - α group of amino acids involved in protein synthesis. Ingredient of:
  • Alantoine - a biological polymer, moisturizes the skin, slows the aging process.
  • Algae extract - contains essential fatty acids, antioxidants (vitamins Е and С), sodium, potassium, iron, zinc, carotene, amino acids and proteins. With these components algae extract improves the metabolic processes in the skin, stimulates the blood circulation, enhances the elasticity of skin and hair, regulates seborrheic and slows down aging processes.
  • Algine - found in algae, has strong moisturizing and protective properties, aids in increasing hair thickness.
  • Almond Oil - sweet and bitter; has anti-inflammatory properties; used in the creams and masks for skin and hair care, but can also be used itself as a cosmetic product.

  • Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) - these acids have received the common name of “fruity acids”, as initially they were found in fruits. Natural fruity acids contribute to removal of the superficial keratin flakes (chemical peeling), inhibit powerful moisturizing and water-retaining effects, activate immune resistance and give the skin a healthy appearance, softness and velvety feeling. AHA exert exfoliating, moisturizing, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects on the skin, as well as stimulate the synthesis of collagen and glycosaminoglycans. Citric, glycolic, lactic, malic and tartaric acids are intended to deep cleanse follicular pores containing sebum, remove keratinized skin cells accumulated within the pores. Among all AHA, glycolic acid exhibits the most powerful keratolytic activity. Exactly this acid provides an immediate smoothing effect, which is achieved when using AHA. Lactic acid is a highly active moisturizer. Studies have shown that this acid enhances the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans. Citric acid stimulates the synthesis of collagen. Tartaric and malic acids enhance the skin elasticity. The combination of these specific acids happens to be one of the most effective applications.

  • Androgen - also called androgenic hormone, usuallly a steroid hormone, that stimulates or controls the development and maintenance of male characteristics in vertebrates by binding to androgen receptors. This includes the activity of the accessory male sex organs and development of male secondary sex characteristics. Androgens were first discovered in 1936. Androgens are also the original anabolic steroids and the precursor of all estrogens, the female sex hormones. The primary and most well-known androgen is testosterone, other less important androgens are dihydrotestosterone and androstenedione.
  • Antiandrogens - or androgen antagonists, first discovered in the 1960s, prevent androgens from expressing their biological effects on responsive tissues. Antiandrogens alter the androgen pathway by blocking the appropriate receptors, competing for binding sites on the cell’s surface, or affecting androgen production. Antiandrogens can be prescribed to treat an array of diseases and disorders. In men, antiandrogens are most frequently used to treat prostate cancer, in women - to decrease levels of male hormones causing symptoms of hyperandrogenism. However, there are various other uses as well, e.g. in both cases antiandrogens can be used to support treatments of inherited hair loss, acne, etc. Antiandrogens present in the environment have become a topic of concern. Many industrial chemicals, pesticides and insecticides exhibit antiandrogenic effects. Certain plant species have also been found to produce antiandrogens. Environmental antiandrogens can have harmful effects on reproductive organ development in fetuses exposed in utero as well as their offspring. Antiandrogens are classified as steroidal or nonsteroidal. Steroidal antiandrogens not only counter androgens, but also affect secondary sex characteristics. Steroidal antiandrogens directly affect gene expression due to their fat-soluble nature that allows them to diffuse through the plasma membrane’s phospholipid bilayer and prevent the binding of testosterone and dihydrotestosterone (DHT) to the androgen receptor. Non-steroidal antiandrogens, or "pure" antiandrogens, such as nilutamide and flutamide, counter androgens and have no steroidal effects. Antiandrogens inhibit circulating androgens by blocking androgen receptors, suppressing androgen synthesis, or acting in both those ways. The most common antiandrogens are androgen receptor (AR) antagonists which act on the target cell level and competitively bind to androgen receptors.
  • Aniba Rosaedora (Rosewood) – botanical extract with deodorizing and antibacterial properties, herbal decoction is used for anti-stress prevention.
  • Aqueous solution – water solutions of medicinal plants (root, bark, bud), heated on the water "bath" for 15-20 minutes.
  • Arctium Majus (burdock) root extract - is simply magic by its effects to the hair. It is one of the best fortifying hair remedies. The burdock root contains an incredible amount of resources: polysaccharide inulin (up to 50%), Bardana essential oil, protein (about 12%), vitamins А, В, С, Е, Р; salts of Chrome, Cobalt, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Silicon, Sodium, Zinc, Calcium, Copper, Manganese, Selenium and Sulfur; fatty oil comprising oleic, linolic, palmitic and stearic acids, tanning substances, flavonoids, glycosides, and alkaloids. When applied externally, the burdock root juice exhibits strong bactericidal effects.
  • Argania spinosa (Argan oil, Moroccan oil) - a traditional plant oil produced from the kernels of the argan tree, that is endemic to Morocco, for dietary purposes from roasted kernels and for cosmetic purposes  from unroasted kernels. It contains tocopherols (Vitamin E), phenols, carotenes, squalene, and fatty acids (80% unsaturated fatty acids). Depending on the extraction method, argan oil may be more resistant to oxidation than olive oil. Moroccans historically use un-roasted oil to treat skin diseases and as an efficient cosmetic oil for skin and hairs.     
  • Arnica Montana (Mountain Arnica) - flower extract with the most active therapeutic action, which belongs to its ingredient Faradiol. When used externally it stimulates hair growth, as well as possesses active topical irritating properties and brings anti-inflammatory effects. It is efficient for treatment of hematomas, pyoderma, trophic ulcers and thermal skin injuries. The flowers of Arnica also contain tannins, resins, organic acids (fumaric, malic, lactic), essential oils, vitamins, protein, sugar, insulin, choline, alkaloids. Its essential oil has anti-inflammatory, moisturizing properties, accelerates the healing of tissues and rejuvenates the skin.
  • Ascorbic Acid - or vitamin C, an organic acid with strong antioxidant properties. Vitamin C is needed for collagen and blood vessel formation, tissue respiration, wound healing, it is also used to prevent hair loss. It is responsible for capillary tone and integrity. Vitamin C deficiency induces impaired microcirculation, therefore hair loss, since hair especially need an active blood supply. Vitamin C possesses antioxidant properties and contributes to iron uptake, critical for hair not to be fragile and dull. Vitamin C also helps to cope with stress – one of the main hair problems triggering factors.
  • Aspartic Acid - an amino acid involved in the synthesis of proteins.
  • Avocado - raw fruit oil contains vitamin A, pro-vitamin D and various trace elements, has antioxidant and regenerating properties, restores the epidermal structure, improves moisture retention of the skin, used in shampoos and other preparations for hair care, in cosmetics especially children.
  • Azelaic acid - has been proven to be strong antiseborrheic, anti-inflammatory and antifungal agent that suppresses excessive keratinization of the sebaceous glands. It is also known for its anti-androgenic properties. It also has the ability to normalize improper growth of skin cells lining the hair follicle.
  • Azulene - one of the most active components of chamomile flowers, possesses anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, healing, regenerating properties, used in preparations for hair care and skin.
