Dry skin is often sensitive, thin and matty. Typically, such skin is particularly tender and has tiny pores. Until certain time looks superb, although it seems transparent and lit from within, but it is also a subject to rapid aging. Dry skin is afraid of everything: the sun, sea water, changes in air temperature, strong cosmetic preparations, soaps. This skin requires constant specific tender care, protection and moisturizing. With the right care, it seems amazingly soft and healthy. But at the slightest mistake in regards to skin care is rapidly deteriorating: it flag and peel off, loses shine and looks "mauled". To get rid of unpleasant sensations, it has to be continually moistened. Dry skin condition is caused by a violation of the functions of the sebaceous glands. They produce less sebum than is necessary to form the natural protective lipidic film on skin. This film of sebum and sweat makes the upper layer of the epidermis elastic and protects the skin from an environmental hazards. When the glands produce little sebum, the outer layer of the skin loses moisture quickly and, respectively, this directly affects the hair condition. The fact is that with age the sebaceous glands "wor"@ slower - it is normal. For many people in mature age their skin becomes more dry. However, dermatologists are concerned that dry skin is more increasingly appears in young people, even young kids. They are blaming this on deterioration of the environment. Experts believe that among the many factors leading to the drying and aging of the skin, the most harmful is the sun rays. This are mainly UVA and UVB rays. They penetrate deep into the skin and destroy the important building blocks of cells. Skin collagen and elastic fibers dry off, harden and no longer bind the moisture. There are so called free radicals in the skin cells, that destroy proteins and enzymes of the skin and affect the division of cells. Actually, an excessive sun and UV radiation causes even healthy skin to get dry.
